Breakthroughs only become real when a coalition of people act in symphony to make change stick. We use The Collaboration Toolkit to explore the needs, contributions and boundaries of each collaborator; design incentives that drive contribution (Meaning, Mastery & Membership and then Money); build micro-interventions to deliver culture-change towards innovation, responsibility and collaboration; and to set up and lead effective collaborative teams.
Collaboration is ineffective with conventional command & control management alone so we use The Collaborative Leadership Toolkit to build leadership mindsets and styles that balance the benefits of hierarchy (e.g. vision, systemic view and excellence) with those of networks and self-organization (e.g. grassroots insight and responsiveness).
We use The Conflict Toolkit to create the conditions for collective flow by clearing away resistance and frustration before it blocks flow. We reframe disputes as creativity waiting to happen. We lead ourselves and others to grow through collaboration during the challenging periods and master how to repair relational fields in conflict.
The guiding question we ask in this module is: How do we create the conditions for teams and partners to deliver our breakthrough with minimum resistance and maximum flow?
